Matthew Hansen

Matthew Hansen co-founded motorsport outlet Velocity News, worked as a freelance photographer for various race teams, and was a specialist journalist for NZ Autocar Magazine and Driven at the NZ Herald. Most recently, he was Editor of Motoring at Stuff.co.nz.

His first launch event in Europe saw him take on a left-hand drive car for the first time – a McLaren 570S Spider – on the roads outside Barcelona, no doubt terrifying his passenger for the day, CarExpert's own Anthony Crawford. His 2007 Honda Civic Type R FD2 sits dusty in his garage, longing to be driven more than once a month. 

If he's not busy writing road tests or the latest in breaking news, Matthew is most likely scanning the internet for model car bargains or riding the perpetual emotional rollercoaster of being a New Zealand Warriors supporter.
