About Paul
Paul Maric is a co-founder of CarExpert and host of the CarExpert YouTube channel. A mechanical engineer by training, he’s combined his technical background, consumer focus and passion for cars to become one of Australia’s leading automotive journalists.
He launched his first car website at 17. This successful early venture was later acquired by CarAdvice in exchange for an equity stake. Following this he subsequently worked as a Project Engineer for a major construction company, all while continuing to freelance for various newspapers and magazines. After discovering that a corporate life of ‘wearing suits to work’ wasn't for him, eventually left engineering to pursue media full-time.
After the sale of CarAdvice in 2019, Paul and his co-founders established CarExpert. They set out to build a modern automotive media house, recruiting an expert team of journalists, videographers, and content creators to deliver some of the most comprehensive car content in the country.
Today, Paul runs the CarExpert YouTube channel and represents the brand across external media. His goal is simple: to make sure no one wastes their money on the wrong car.
Paul is an active and engaging presence on social media and encourages fans and readers to reach out.
