Nissan is recalling the 2019 Juke due to a mispositioned heat shield that may cause the front drivers airbag to tear.
“The heat shield may not be in the proper position around the front driver airbag’s inflator. When the airbag is triggered, hot gas may damage the airbag material or cause the airbag to tear,” Nissan says in its recall notice.
“If the airbag is damaged or torn, there is an increased risk of injury and/or death to vehicle occupants in the event of an accident that triggers the airbag.”
Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to contact their local Nissan dealer to a free fix for the driver’s airbag assembly.
