The new Nissan Navara, a retuned and lightly restyled Mitsubishi Triton, has been priced for Australia.
It’s due in Nissan Australia showrooms in March 2026.
Nissan has collaborated with Premcar, which created tougher Warrior versions of the outgoing Navara, to develop, test and tune the new ute’s suspension.

The lineup has been cut down significantly compared to the last Navara, with single-cab, King Cab, cab/chassis, manual and rear-wheel drive variants no longer available.
Instead, there are four trim levels, each offered exclusively as a dual-cab pickup with four-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. Nissan says this combination accounted for over 90 per cent of sales of the outgoing D23 Navara.
While the new Navara drops down from a seven-speed auto to a six-speed unit, its 2.4-litre twin-turbo diesel engine pumps out 10kW and 20Nm more than the old model’s twin-turbo 2.3-litre four.
Starting at $53,348 before on-road costs, it carries a higher base price than the Triton. The average price increase over the old D23 Navara is $2943, with the Pro-4X flagship $5865 pricier than before.
The new Navara’s launch coincides with the 40th anniversary of the nameplate in Australia. Since then, over 425,000 Navaras have been delivered Down Under.
| Model | Price before on-road costs |
|---|---|
| 2026 Nissan Navara SL dual-cab pickup 4×4 auto | $53,348 (+$2620) |
| 2026 Nissan Navara ST dual-cab pickup 4×4 auto | $56,765 (+$932) |
| 2026 Nissan Navara ST-X dual-cab pickup 4×4 auto | $63,177 (+$2354) |
| 2026 Nissan Navara Pro-4X dual-cab pickup 4×4 auto | $68,418 (+$5865) |
The Nissan Navara is available exclusively with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, like its Triton twin, but unlike the Mitsubishi there’s no option of rear-wheel drive or a manual transmission.

Instead, all Navaras have a six-speed auto, and the Nissan is offered with a choice of two four-wheel drive systems, both of which feature a dual-range transfer case and come with a locking rear differential.
Easy 4WD is standard on the SL and ST and features 2H, 4H and 4L modes, while Super 4WD is standard on the ST-X and Pro-4X and brings a 4A mode that can be used on road.
Unlike the previous Navara, there are no coil springs at the rear. Instead, the new Navara uses leaf springs like its Triton twin, though Nissan says it has given the ute its own Australian-developed suspension tune.
