Aston Martin DBX recalled for fire risk

Aston Martin Australia has recalled 59 examples of the DBX, owing to an oil cooler hose fault which can cause a vehicle fire.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, oil cooler lines could burst resulting in a sudden loss of oil pressure. This could lead to the engine stalling or an oil leak,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source may cause a vehicle fire.

“A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving and/or a vehicle fire could increase the potential risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

• A total of 59 vehicles built between 2022 and 2023 are affected

If you own an affected DBX, Aston Martin will contact you by mail to schedule an appointment with your nearest dealer to have the fasteners replaced, free of charge.

This recall is unrelated to yesterday’s recall of 217 DBXs due to a fuse box cable fixing fault, which can result in a loss of power and assisted steering.
