A NSW Police vehicle has been caught on camera blocking a cycle path so the officer inside could fine speeding motorists.
Motoring journalist Dave McCowen shared the footage to Instagram, revealing an unmarked Traffic and Highway Patrol BMW 5 Series parked across a bike lane next to a busy highway in the St George-Sutherland Shire area.
The positioning of the vehicle meant cyclists would have had to slow down to get around the obstruction, or risk a collision with the police car or an oncoming cyclist.
Not only is the vehicle barely visible from the road, but it’s also on a downhill stretch of road.
Mr McCowen shot the vehicle over the weekend, where double demerit points were in effect throughout New South Wales for offences like speeding.
