LDV’s Australian distributor has recalled 932 examples of the Deliver 9 bus, but owners won’t have to take their vehicles back to a dealer to resolve a fault.
“The vehicle specification sheet obtained from the LDV website may have provided incorrect information in relation to gross vehicle mass, axle capacities, payload and towing capacities,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
“If the driver attempts to tow a load higher than the approved maximum weight, this could result in increased braking distances and/or reduced braking performance. This could also result in reduced steering response which may lead to the vehicle to rollover.
“A reduction or a loss in braking performance, a reduced steering response and/or vehicle rollover could result in a serious accident to the vehicle occupants or other road users that can lead to severe injury or death.”

LDV notes its website has been updated with the correct information, with the specifications mentioned in the owner’s manual and the vehicle’s build plate being correct.
Owners have been advised to discard any specification sheets obtained from the website and only use the owner’s manual and the data on the build plate.
Previous instances of strange recalls have included vehicles needing new labels for charging cables and fuel consumption and gross vehicle capacity figures, though it’s understood this is a first for retracted information on a manufacturer’s website.
