Mazda Australia has recalled 860 examples of the CX-60 and CX-90 diesel SUV to fix a problem with its transmission.
“Due to a software issue in the transmission control module, if the brake pedal is firmly depressed to stop the vehicle the clutch for the engine and electric motor may remain disengaged during deceleration,” the recall notice says.
“If this occurs, power from the engine or electric motor may not be transmitted when the accelerator pedal is depressed.”
“If power is not transmitted from the engine or electric motor when the accelerator pedal is depressed, it may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
- A total of 860 vehicles built between 2023 and 2024 are included in the recall notice

Mazda will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a fix with their nearest dealer.
