MG has improved the warranty on its ZS EV and HS plug-in hybrid crossovers from five to seven years.
The move brings the Chinese brand’s two electrified SUVs into line with the rest of its petrol-powered range.
ZS EV and HS plug-in hybrid vehicles sold from July 1, 2021, will have a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty in Australia.

The warranty on the lithium-ion battery pack on both models has changed from eight years and 160,000km to the same seven-year, unlimited-kilometre setup as the rest of the car for private buyers.
Drivers using their cars commercially (for Uber, for example) will still be capped at 160,000km.
Pricing for the MG ZS EV has risen by $1000 to $44,990 drive-away for the 2022 financial year, while the HS plug-in hybrid’s sticker price has jumped by $1000 to $47,990 drive-away.

MG says the price rises come on the back of changes to the value of the Australian dollar.
Despite the price increase, the ZS EV remains Australia’s cheapest electric vehicle.
The HS plug-in hybrid also still undercuts rivals such as the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ($47,990 before on-roads) and upcoming Ford Escape ST-Line PHEV ($52,490 before on-roads).
