Subaru Australia has announced price reductions for its Solterra and Trailseeker electric SUVs, bringing savings as the brand prepares to launch a third EV in the Australian market.
The Solterra has been brought down by $2000 across its two-variant lineup, now starting at $61,990 before on-road costs, while the yet-to-be-launched Trailseeker is down by $4000 with a new base price of $63,990 before on-roads.
The reductions come as Subaru announces pricing for the new Uncharted, its third EV in Australian showrooms, which will start at $59,990 before on-roads. There are now $2000 intervals between the entry prices of Subaru's three EVs.
Subaru Australia encourages buyers who have recently placed an order for either the Solterra or Trailseeker to contact a dealer "for further guidance on how this update may apply to their purchase".

Prices were already reduced by as much as $7000 for the Solterra as it entered 2026, despite Subaru rolling out a major update that brought a new look, refreshed tech, a larger battery, greater driving range, and more power.
The update was aligned with similar changes to its Toyota bZ4X twin, which had its prices slashed by up to $10,010. The base bZ4X FWD is still cheaper than the base Solterra, starting at $55,990 before on-roads, but its top-spec AWD variant and the top-spec Solterra Touring are now priced identically at $67,990 before on-roads apiece.
The Trailseeker's price cuts, meanwhile, have come before its planned local launch in June 2026. Like the Solterra Touring, the top-spec Trailseeker Touring now costs the same as its single-variant bZ4X Touring twin at $69,990 before on-roads, while the base Trailseeker undercuts it by an increased margin of $6000.
That price parity is a noticeable change of pace, as Subaru's EVs have so far been priced as slightly more premium versions of their Toyota twins, a trend that began with the Solterra when it launched in 2024.

In fact, the Trailseeker's price cuts aren't the first time Subaru has reduced the price of an EV before it even hit the market. That happened in 2024, when the Japanese brand cut the price of the pre-facelift Solterra by up to $8000 just one month before handing customers their keys.
That means the base Solterra AWD is down by a whopping $16,000 since the nameplate was announced locally in late 2023, while the top-spec Solterra AWD Touring is down by $15,700.
There have been no mechanical changes for either the Solterra or Trailseeker. Both models exclusively feature dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrains and are powered by a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery sourced from Chinese manufacturer CATL.
The Solterra has WLTP driving range claims of 566km and 517km, depending on the variant, while the larger Trailseeker has range figures of 533km or 488km. Power in the Solterra is quoted at 252kW, while the Trailseeker bumps that to a substantial 280kW for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.4 seconds.

Inside, both EVs get a 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument display, and dual wireless phone chargers – all sourced from Toyota – along with a squared-off steering wheel that sits low on the dashboard.
Subaru will no doubt hope to boost its EV sales with this revised pricing, though it's too early to make accurate predictions based on the unlaunched Trailseeker's sales figures.
However, the Solterra has recorded 324 deliveries in the first four months of 2026, up by a massive 376.5 per cent on the same period in 2025. It's the only Subaru model to record a year-on-year sales increase so far in 2026.
