The 2026 Rox Adamas has launched in its native market of China, and there are new signs the range-extender electric SUV could be headed for Australia.

CarExpert has unearthed more than a dozen local trademark filings by Rox Motors, including for the Adamas and Pole Stone names.

Originally reported in September 2023, the Rox Adamas was first known as the Pole Stones (or Polestone) 01 and the Rox 01, but has received a new name – while being slightly longer and lower than the original model.

Available as either a single- or dual-motor vehicle, the Adamas comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine acting as a power generator.

The latest model puts out 150kW in the base variant, while the dual-motor version has a combined output of 350kW, according to website ChinaPEV – with the range-topping Adamas completing the 0-100km/h sprint time in a claimed 5.5 seconds.

Rox Motors lists a combined driving range of 1226 kilometres – with an electric range of 215km – though it’s unclear whether those figures are for the single- or dual-motor vehicle.

It’s understood Polestones Automobile rebranded as Rox Motor in 2024.

The electric-vehicle startup initially launched in the Middle East, before expanding to Africa and Central Asia – with the company awarded as the most trusted EV brand in Oman in 2025.

Designed by the Shanghai office of Italian design house Pininfarina – best known for penning some of Ferrari’s most iconic models – the Rox Adamas offers a boxy silhouette with clear inspiration from the Land Rover Defender, while the inside can be optioned with either six or seven seats.

Rox Motors offers several features designed for camping, including a tailgate kitchen system, an overnight sentry mode, an inflatable mattress, and household electricity outlets.

However, arguably the most unusual feature is the vehicle’s centre console, which comes with a removable lid – turning it into an emergency toilet.

The toilet-shaped box is designed to be used with a specific plastic bag with deodorising and absorbent gel, as reported by Chinese automotive website Dcar.

According to pricing in the UAE, the Rox Adamas is priced from approximately A$109,000.

Rox Motors has yet to make any announcement regarding its entry into Australia, however CarExpert understands the company does have personnel in Australia.
