This will be an interesting one to explain to the insurance company…
A Jetstar aircraft and a Mitsubishi Triton collided this morning at Sydney Airport.
Photos of the incident were posted on Facebook to the Aussie AV Geeks page. It’s currently unclear how the incident occurred.
According to 7News, the incident occurred at 5:30am today, January 22.

“A Sydney Airport utility vehicle made contact with one of our aircraft, which was being towed to the gate without passengers,” Jetstar told 7News.
“We’re working with Sydney Airport to fully investigate what happened.”
The incident caused Jetstar to reportedly make alternative arrangements for customers impacted by the plane’s damage. All the flights scheduled for that plane were cancelled.

Photos from the incident show the ute with a smashed windscreen and crumpled sheetmetal.
A spokesperson for Sydney Airport told Yahoo News no one was injured in the incident and the vehicle is “undergoing precautionary engineering checks”.
