Volvo XC40, C40 EVs recalled

Volvo Australia has recalled 15 examples of the XC40 and C40 Recharge single-motor electric SUVs, due to a fault which could cause the front passenger seat to move unexpectedly.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the front passenger seat mounting bolts may not have been tightened according to specifications and could become loose or detach,” the carmaker said in its recall notice. 

“As a result, the seat may move inadvertently.

“If the front passenger seat moves inadvertently in the event of an accident, it could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

If you own an affected XC40 or C40 Recharge, you should contact your preferred authorised Volvo dealer to have the vehicle inspected as soon as possible, and the work carried out, free of charge.
