About Damion
Damion Smy is an award-winning motoring journalist whose passion for cars has taken him to some of the world’s most-read automotive titles, including the news desk at the UK’s Auto Express and his childhood bible, Car magazine.
In Australia, he has held senior editorial roles at Wheels, Auto Action and Speedcafe. His time at Speedcafe reinforced his love of motorsport and eye for scoops, while a stint as Product Communications Manager at Ford Australia gave him unique insight into the industry during the final years of local manufacturing – including the Mustang’s debut on the Supercars circuit.
Fuelled by coffee, Damion spends his spare time at track days in his cherished Peugeot 306 GTi, listening to prog rock, exploring design and architecture, and continuing his eternal quest for the perfect pizza.
