The Mini Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition is now available in in Australia, where the all-electric special-edition hatchback is priced at $60,990 before on-road costs.
Based on the battery-powered Cooper SE three-door, the unique electric hatch brings special design, colour and accessory combinations to mark Mini’s tie-up with English fashion house Paul Smith, which was founded in Nottingham more than 50 years ago.
Speaking about the special edition with Wallpaper in 2025, Paul Smith said: “I’ve seen ones where the designer literally just puts their name on the car and maybe one red line.
“I was determined not to do that; it would be embarrassing. But with a job like this, you can’t do a different sort of car because you inherit the car that’s there. So first of all, you’ve got to like the car, which I do. Then you think, ‘what can I do?’”.

It’s the first production electric vehicle (EV) to come from the Paul Smith collaboration with Mini, following the 2021 Mini Strip and 2022 Mini Strip Recharge concept cars.
It’s also the first Paul Smith-badged production Mini since the 1998 original, and the first to be offered in Australia – although Mini has not specified how many have been allocated to local dealers.
“You can misbehave a bit with concept cars but to do a production car is very exciting,” added Mr Smith to Wallpaper.
Priced $2000 above the standard Mini Cooper SE, the 2026 Paul Smith Edition is available in three exterior paint colours – Inspired White, Statement Grey and Midnight Black II – each with ‘Nottingham Green’ accents on the roof, grille surround and side mirror caps.

There are also green centre caps for the standard 18-inch Night Flash Spoke Black and Dark Steel alloy wheels, while the mirrors also feature Paul Smith-flavoured ‘hello’ projector puddle lamps.
Other exterior additions include Mini logos finished in black and blue, Paul Smith tailgate badging, and the BMW-owned British brand’s signature multi-colour stripes on the roof, as well as on the centre spoke of the steering wheel.
The cabin also features a dark-accented treatment with Paul Smith door inlays, a floormat rivet with the Paul Smith ‘Rabbit’ and blue stitching, Nightshade Blue Vescin vegan leather-trimmed seats, and recycled polyester door cards and dash trim.
And the panoramic glass roof – already standard in the Cooper SE – has been given a Dark Steel interior accent.

The powertrain and other features are unchanged from the regular Cooper SE, which is powered by a 160kW/330Nm single electric motor driving the front wheels, and a 49.2kWh battery offering a claimed range of 400km (WLTP).
It also has a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
A total of 607 Mini Coopers were sold in Australia in the first three months of 2026 – 147 of which were electric – accounting for almost half of the small-car brand’s 1370 sales.
The pint-size Aceman electric hatch is Mini’s best-selling EV so far this year, with 159 sales in the first quarter of 2026.
