Renault Australia has recalled 336 Trafic vans, over concerns about the high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe.
Renault says the EGR high-pressure pipe could crack on affected cars. If the problem occurs, the engine could stall, drivers could lose their engine braking, and the car could leak fuel.
All those outcomes increase the risk of accident or injury to occupants and other road users.
Renault Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership.
