2013-19 Jeep Grand Cherokee models are being recalled as they could suddenly stall and not be able to be restarted.

Jeep is recalling 11,632 Grand Cherokee SUVs as their engines could stall.
“In some vehicles the signal from the crankshaft position sensor may fail. This may result in an engine stall (loss of engine power), as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine,” the company says in its recall notice.
“A sudden loss of engine power increases the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.”
UPDATE, 3/8/2021 – A subsequent recall notice published on the Department of Infrastructure website has confirmed the recall affects vehicles from 2013 to 2019, not 2014 to 2015 as previously stated.
The recall affects models from model years 2013 to 2019, though Jeep recently issued a similar recall for eight vehicles from model years 2018 to 2020.

If you own an affected vehicle, Jeep will contact you. You’ll then need to take it to a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer for a free inspection and repair.
