Lexus to axe its flagship in the US

Hyundai has recalled the 2019-20 Ioniq Electric due to a fault with its battery.
It coincides with a recall of the Kona Electric for the same issue.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the battery does not meet specifications and may lead to an electrical short which could start a fire,” the company says in its recall notice.
“A vehicle fire may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, bystanders and/or damage to property.”
- A total of 208 vehicles are affected

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to take it to a Hyundai dealer.
Technicians will perform a software check to identify a particular hardware issue. If this issue is found in your car, Hyundai will replace the battery.
