2019-21 Honda Accord Hybrid recalled

Honda Australia has issued a recall for 89 units of the 2019-21 Accord Hybrid sedan, over concerns an electrical fault may stop the 12V battery from charging.

“In cold ambient temperatures, the DC-DC converter may shut down and prevent the 12-volt battery from recharging, resulting in a loss of drive power if the vehicle continues to be driven,” Honda says in its ACCC recall notice.

“Warning lights in the instrument cluster will illuminate and a warning message will also appear.”

“Loss of power could result in the vehicle slowing or stopping, increasing the risk of an accident,” the company adds.

• Dates available for sale: 16 October 2019, 17 June 2020 to 11 August 2020

Owners of the recalled Accord Hybrid models are urged to contact their preferred Honda dealer to arrange a free repair.
