Audi Australia is recalling 57 examples of its A6 and A7 as there’s a risk of plastic fragments being launched during an airbag deployment.
“Due to a manufacturing issue with the vehicle’s dash panel, the front passenger airbag may not fully inflate in the event of an accident,” the company says in its recall notice.
“In the event of and accident resulting in the front passenger airbag being activated, the airbag may not fully inflate and/or plastic fragments may propel out through the airbag cushion towards vehicle occupants.
“This increases the risk of serious injury and/or death to vehicle occupants.”

Audi Australia is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles.
If you’re an owner of one, you’ll need to contact your nearest Audi dealer for a free inspection and repair.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Audi Australia on 1800 50 2834 between 8am and 6pm AEST.
