Jeep is recalling its mid-sized Cherokee SUV as there’s a risk of a fire.
“The transmission oil cooler (TOC) hose may have been manufactured with incorrectly cured rubber,” the company says in its recall notice.
“This rubber can rupture, allowing transmission fluid to leak.
“Transmission fluid leaking from a TOC hose may contact an ignition source, leading to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire may increase the risk of injury or death of vehicle occupants and/or bystanders, as well as property damage.”

Owners of affected vehicles are being contacted. If you own an affected Cherokee, you’ll need to take it to a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer for a free inspection and repair.
For further information, you can contact Jeep on 1300 133 079.
