Deliveries of the new Subaru Outback are on hold.
Subaru dealers were told on March 22 to stop delivering the latest Outback wagon to customers, as the company works with head office in Japan to resolve an as-yet undisclosed problem.
Dealers contacted by CarExpert had no knowledge of what’s causing the stop sale.

“We confirm there’s a delivery stop on Model Year 21 Outback, which was communicated to our dealers late Monday,” a Subaru Australia spokesperson told CarExpert.
“We expect the factory to confirm the nature of the issue shortly and will advise customers at the earliest opportunity.”
Customers awaiting an Outback have been told there will be a delay before their new cars arrive, but haven’t been told exactly how long that delay will be.
The 2021 Subaru Outback launched in February, and order books remain open.
Pricing kicks off at $39,990 before on-road costs and extends to $47,790 before on-roads.

Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer engine producing 138kW of power and 245Nm of torque, mated to a continuously-variable transmission and all-wheel drive.
Three trim levels are available, but Australia currently misses out on the 2.4-litre turbocharged engine offered abroad.
