The Mahindra Scorpio off-road SUV has received a suite of active safety and driver assist technology, bringing it in line with the more road-focused XUV 3XO small SUV and the XUV700 mid-size SUV with which it shares showroom space.
The Scorpio range has been pared back to just a single Z8L+ variant with a seven-seat configuration, now priced at $48,990 drive-away – up by $2000. The base Z8 has been axed.
The 2026 Scorpio is arriving in Australian showrooms over summer.

The suite of standard safety tech includes:
There’s also Front Vehicle Start Alert, which notifies you if the vehicle in front starts moving. It does this via a combination of a pop-up in the instrument cluster, a chime, and a vibration in the steering wheel.
The Scorpio also gains Smart Pilot Assist, which manages steering, acceleration and braking to keep you travelling at a set speed and centred in your lane.
Outside of this new safety kit, the Scorpio also gains an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, an electric park brake with auto hold, and ventilated front seats.
While Mahindra had been expected to launch this safety upgrade late in 2024, it officially confirmed in February it would come by the end of this year.
