The updated 2026 Nissan X-Trail range is now in showrooms, with prices increasing by up to $1150 across the mid-size SUV lineup.
To help justify the price increase, some X-Trail variants have gotten more equipment.
The X-Trail gains Connected Car Services (CCS 1.0), which brings remote vehicle functions like remote engine start, vehicle health reporting, and maintenance alerts – all of which are accessed via a dedicated smartphone app.

ST-L variants and above get an updated Around View Monitor surround camera system, which includes a new ‘Skeleton Hood’ see-through view and ‘Multi View’ angle for T-junctions.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now standard on the base ST, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and replacing an 8.0-inch unit, while the ST-L gets leather-accented upholstery, replacing leatherette, as well as a 10-way power-adjustable passenger seat.
Rain-sensing wipers are also now standard across the range, though unlike its updated Mitsubishi Outlander cousin you still can’t get ventilated front seats, even on the top-spec Ti-L.

The lineup is effectively the same for 2026, apart from the demise of the more rugged-looking N-Trek variants.
That means ST, ST-L, Ti and Ti-L trim levels, a choice of petrol or e-Power series-hybrid powertrains, a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, and either five- or seven-seat configurations.
As before, Nissan Australia won’t offer the e-Power powertrain with a seven-seat configuration, despite this being offered overseas. A seven-seat interior is locked to all-wheel drive versions of the petrol-powered ST and ST-L.
The LED lighting signatures are new for model year 2026 (MY26), as are the bumper designs and the front grille insert.

New exterior finishes – Deep Ocean Blue and Everest White – join the palette, while the Ti-L’s optional Tan interior has been replaced with a new Chestnut colourway.
All X-Trails with a black interior now have, well, a black interior – gone is the unusual two-tone brown and black dash and door treatment of the pre-update model, while a new steering wheel is standard across the range.
Nissan Australia has made no mention of whether it intends to offer the rugged new Rock Creek trim level offered in Japan, though it has ruled out the sportier Nismo grade, which is currently exclusive to the Japanese domestic market.
It has, however, extended the X-Trail's service intervals. The SUV now requires servicing every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first, instead of every 12 months or 10,000km.

There are no powertrain changes for MY26.

While the standard petrol-powered Nissan X-Trail is fitted with a conventional drivetrain, the e-Power is slightly more complex.
Its petrol engine is mated to a motor-generator and an inverter, which is used to charge the lithium-ion battery pack that feeds the electric drive motors.
