The 2027 Volvo EX60 is set to go on sale in Australia at the end of the year, but the company is already looking at expanding the range.
Volvo has confirmed the EX60 P6 RWD Ultra and the P10 AWD Ultra will be offered at launch, however both a high-performance P12 AWD and a new entry-level version are also being considered for this market.
The P12 uses the same dual-motor, all-wheel drive configuration as the P10, but outputs increase from 375kW and 710Nm to 500Nm and 790Nm – dropping the 0-100km/h sprint time from 4.6 seconds to just 3.9.

Furthermore, a spokesperson for the company says the EX60 Cross Country is currently being evaluated.
Featuring higher-riding suspension with adaptive dampers, as well as all-wheel drive and more rugged styling, the Cross Country is pitched more for those who might use their vehicle on rough country roads and muddy environments, like farms, rather than being a dedicated off-roader.
Initially available to overseas markets with the 375kW/710Nm dual-motor powertrain from the EX60 P10, the Cross Country will eventually be available with a more powerful P12 powertrain.

The Volvo Australia spokesperson also said the company was looking at a lower entry-level grade to sit below the already-announced EX60 P6 RWD Ultra.
While unconfirmed, it’s likely to be the P6 RWD Plus, available in the UK and North America as the base variant for the EX60 lineup.
In the UK, the EX60 P6 Plus is £5500 cheaper than the EX60 P6 Ultra – or around A$10,000 less.
However, strategically, Volvo could be looking to position the EX60 P6 Plus between the P6 Ultra, at $86,990 before on-road costs, and the smaller EX40 – priced from $74,990 before on-road costs – suggesting a target price of between $79,000 and $83,000.
