Australian buyers of the Honda CR-V andZR-V SUVs can now access key safety features for a lower price.
Honda has introduced a new CR-V VTi X+ variant, as well as two new ZR-V variants called VTi X+ and VTi L+. All come standard with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
They’re on sale now.
These two safety systems were previously only available on the CR-V’s VTi X7, VTi L and e:HEV RS offerings, or the ZR-V VTi LX and e:HEV LX Hybrid.
The addition of the technology has resulted in an $800 premium for the CR-V VTi X+ over the existing VTi X base model. It’s priced at $44,700 drive-away.
For the ZR-V, the VTi X+ and VTi L+ come at a $400 premium over the variants they’re based on, priced from $39,900 and $42,900 drive-away, respectively.
Honda Australia handed down price cuts to the aforementioned, non-Plus grades in mid-April, though higher-spec models are unchanged.
While the CR-V VTi X and ZR-V VTi X/VTi L remain available, stock is limited.
Until June 30, all Honda ZR-Vs, all model year 2023 CR-Vs, and 2024 CR-V hybrids are backed by an eight-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, plus eight years of premium roadside assistance and five capped-price services ($199 each).
While the Honda CR-V is still the brand’s most popular model in Australia, the ZR-V is closing in on its sales tally.
Between January and May 2024, 2239 Honda ZR-Vs were sold in Australia, while 2928 CR-Vs were sold – a 30 per cent drop from the 4197 deliveries of the nameplate in the opening five months of 2023.
