Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 7036 examples of the Vito van due to a software issue that may cause the reversing camera to not work properly.
This recall affects Vito models produced from 2015 to 2016.
“Due to a software issue, the rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image as intended,” said the company in its recall notice.
“If the rear-view camera display does not display the rear-view image when reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Mercedes-Benz dealer to book in for a free inspection and software update.
If you have further questions you can contact the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
