Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace recalled

Volkswagen is recalling its Tiguan Allspace crossover SUV as its curtain airbags may not deploy properly in a collision.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the right and/or left curtain airbag/s may be fitted with a faulty gas generator. As a result, the airbags may not deploy as intended,” the company says in its recall notice.

“In the event of airbag deployment during an accident, the curtain airbag/s may not provide adequate protection for vehicle occupants which could increase the risk of injury or death.”

• A total of 86 vehicles are affected, produced from 2018 to 2019

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to make an appointment with an authorised Volkswagen dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
