The in-demand Mercedes-AMG G63 luxury off-roader has received another price increase, this time for the 2023 model year.
Pricing now starts at $365,091 before on-road costs for the V8 twin-turbo G63, which is slightly more than $50,000 compared to the 2022 model.
This new pricing also makes the current-generation AMG G63 a whopping $117,391 more expensive than when it first arrived back in 2018.
“Although I’m unable to give specific details about how vehicle pricing is determined, I can confirm that due to the level of demand globally it has been necessary to increase the vehicle price of the Mercedes-AMG G63 to ensure its ongoing availability in the Australian market,” said a Mercedes-Benz spokesperson in a statement.
To compensate for the higher asking price, Mercedes-Benz has added a new AMG Performance steering wheel in carbon fibre and microfibre, with additional AMG controls.
There’s also a new range of ‘G manufaktur’ personalisation options for customers to choose from.
It’s worth noting orders for the G-Wagen have now been closed since the middle of 2021, as Mercedes-Benz clears its backlog of existing orders. At this stage it’s unclear when Mercedes-Benz plans to reopen G-Wagen orders.
The Mercedes-Benz spokesperson confirmed existing order holders will have the asking price when they ordered their car protected when the current pricing comes into force.
