2025 Toyota RAV4

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 is now exclusively available as a hybrid in Australia, which aligns with what most buyers were opting for regardless.

Toyota announced in mid-2024 that it would cease taking orders for RAV4 models powered by the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre four-cylinder engines as part of a widespread reduction of petrol-only models.

This decision also affected non-hybrid versions of the Corolla, Corolla Cross, Camry, and Kluger.

Deliveries of petrol-powered variants will continue for the next few months, with petrol Kluger deliveries extending into the next year.

Over 90 per cent of RAV4s sold in 2024 were fitted with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, exceeding the hybrid uptake for the Kluger (76.9 per cent) and Corolla Cross (85.8 per cent).

The discontinuation of petrol models has increased the base price by $2500.

As the RAV4 goes hybrid-only, some competitors are just beginning to introduce hybrid options.

It maintains a strong hold on the title of best-selling vehicle in its segment, outselling its closest competitor, the Mitsubishi Outlander, by more than 50 per cent.

As it stands today, Toyota has confirmed that wait times for the RAV4 have reduced to around three to four months, thanks to improved supply.
