The 2020 Haval H9 is available in two trim levels, with the Lux costing $40,990 before on-road costs and the Ultra costing $44,990 before on-road costs.
Unlike other body-on-frame SUVs of this size, the H9 is available solely with petrol power. It also undercuts rivals by thousands of dollars while offering plenty of standard kit.

All prices exclude on-road costs.

The 2020 Haval H9 is available with just one powertrain, a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 180kW and 350Nm. It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF.
Both H9 models use full-time four-wheel drive with selectable low-range gearing and a locking rear differential.

The 2020 Haval H9 consumes 10.9L/100km on the combined cycle and requires 95RON premium unleaded fuel.
The 2020 Haval H9 measures 4856mm long, 1900mm tall, and 1926mm wide.

When the H9 was tested by ANCAP in 2015, it received a rating of four stars.
That rating was based on a frontal offset score of 12.05 out of 16 and a side impact score of 16 out of 16. Whiplash and pedestrian protection were rated Good and Acceptable, respectively.
All 2020 Haval H9 models come standard with autonomous emergency braking with forward-collision warning, as well as lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and anti-lock brakes.
There are also dual airbags plus side airbags for the front row, as well as curtain airbags for all three rows.
