Mercedes-Benz Australia has quietly introduced an additional variant to the 2022 C-Classline-up, based on the entry-level C200.
Dubbed the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C200 Edition C, the no-cost option package brings a more subdued look compared to the AMG Line appointments standard on the C200 and C300 in Australia. Pricing for the C200 currently starts at $78,900 before on-road costs.
The C200 Edition C switches out the AMG Line exterior and interior packages for the Avantgarde treatment inside and out, Comfort front seats instead of Sport front seats, and introduces a beige Artico interior option.
C200 Edition C highlights:
Carryover specification from the C200 AMG Line includes:
Power in the C200 comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 150kW of power and 300Nm of torque, bolstered by a 48V mild-hybrid system.
Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes-Benz claims the C200 will accelerate from 0-100 in 7.3 seconds and use a 6.9L/100km on the combined cycle.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has confirmed with CarExpert that the C200 Edition C is available to order now and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. It’s likely the Edition C will have a shelf life similar to that of Edition 1 models that are produced for the first model year.
