The BYD Atto 2 arrives in local showrooms in December 2025, with a base price undercutting key small electric SUV rivals.
Priced from $31,990 before on-road costs, the Atto 2 is more affordable than the Chery E5 and Leapmotor B10, both priced from $38,990 drive-away.
It also undercuts the BYD Atto 3, which opens at $39,990 before on-road costs.

The Atto 2 is launching here in a choice of two model grades, both of which come with a 51.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 130kW/290Nm electric motor. Claimed WLTP range is 345km.

BYD claims a 0-100 per cent charge will take 8.2 hours on AC power, and that a 10-80 per cent fast-charge will take 38.6 minutes on DC power.
Australians will miss out on the more powerful 150kW/310Nm electric motor and larger 64.8kWh battery offered in other markets like the UK, which boosts the combined range claim to 429km.
The Atto 2 rides on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, as per other models like the Atto 1 electric hatch.



The small SUV features MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension.

BYD Australia hasn’t announced service details for the Atto 2 yet.
