The Honda CR-V lineup has been reshuffled for 2026, with fewer petrol-powered options and more hybrids including the belated launch of all-wheel drive hybrid variants.
After launching here in 2024 with a single hybrid configuration, the front-wheel drive e:HEV RS flagship, there are now four: the front-wheel drive e:HEV X and e:HEV L, plus the all-wheel drive e:HEV LX and e:HEV RS.
The CR-V e:HEV (hybrid) lineup now opens at $49,900 drive-away for the e:HEV X. That’s $5000 more than the base petrol-powered VTi X but $7000 less than the cheapest hybrid option in 2025.

While there are more hybrid options than before, there’s now only one seven-seat option following the axing of the VTi X7.
That leaves just the VTi L7 at $54,900 drive-away, $1500 more than its price tag last year. You still can’t get hybrid power with a third row of seats.
Also dead for 2026 are the petrol-powered VTi L five-seater in both front- and all-wheel drive configurations, as well as the five-seat VTi LX AWD. That leaves just a pair of purely petrol-powered options: an entry-level variant and a mid-spec grade with seven seats.
All CR-Vs stick with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system but gain Google Built-in for 2026, bringing embedded Google apps such as Google Maps and Google Assistant.

A 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster is now more widely available, with only the base VTi X missing out, while a surround-view camera is now available in all hybrid variants bar the e:HEV X.
The e:HEV RS AWD flagship has been the biggest beneficiary of spec updates, gaining not only a surround-view camera but also a head-up display, heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.
It also moves to black wheel-arch cladding, and swaps its body-colour door handles for black ones. However, it’s now $4500 more expensive than last year’s front-wheel drive e:HEV RS.
Unlike CR-Vs offered in markets such as Japan, front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and active blind-spot assist haven’t been added to the spec list in Australia for 2026.
