Even new brands like Zeekr can’t resist the lure of a black edition.

The Zeekr 7X Black Special Edition is now available to order, priced from $75,900 before on-road costs.

Based on the flagship Performance variant of the mid-size electric SUV but priced $3000 higher, it adds:

    • 20-inch black alloy wheels
    • Onyx gloss exterior paint
    • Gloss black front and rear lower bumpers
    • Gloss black lower door exterior trims
    • Black roof rails
    • Black Nappa leather upholstery

There are no other changes to the 7X Performance it’s based on.

Therefore it features the same 800V electrical architecture and dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain, with a maximum 420kW DC fast-charge rate, 543km of WLTP range, and outputs of 475kW of power and 710Nm of torque.

Zeekr claims the 7X Performance can do the 0-100km/h dash in 3.8 seconds.

    Standard equipment includes:

    • Air suspension
    • Continuous damping control
    • Automatic doors
    • Panoramic glass roof
    • LED headlights
    • 36.2-inch head-up display

Deliveries of the 7X range commenced in October 2025.

Despite only being on sale for a short time, Zeekr managed to deliver 1206 examples of the 7X in 2025. That saw it outsell rivals like the Volkswagen ID.4 (1196), Toyota bZ4X (1041) and Hyundai Ioniq 5 (626). It also beat similarly new Chinese competitors like the MG IM6 (260).

To the end of February this year, it’s sitting at 1046 units. That means it’s outselling every other mid-size electric SUV apart from the BYD Sealion 7 (2498) and Tesla Model Y (3079). It’s also proving more popular than all other premium mid-size SUVs, including the Lexus NX (809) and BMW X3 (846).
