Honda Accord recalled

Honda Australia is recalling its current-generation Accord mid-size hybrid sedan as it could unexpectedly lose power.

“Due to a software issue, the integrated control module software may cause system errors. This can result in a sudden loss of motive power,” the company says in its recall notice.

“A sudden loss of power while driving may increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

The recall notice says 180 vehicles are affected, produced between 2024 and 2025. Honda only introduced the current-generation model last year, and delivered 137 Accords last year – including previous-generation examples – plus a further 90 this year to the end of October.

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised dealer to have the software updated, free of charge.
