Hyundai’s recently introduced electric vehicle, the Ioniq 5, has been recalled as it could roll away when put in park.
“Due to a software issue with the Shift Control Unit (SCU), the parking pawl (P) may fail,” the company said in its recall notice.
“This could result in vehicle moving or rolling away whilst engaged in park position.
“If the vehicle moves from the parked position while unattended, it may increase the risk of a crash causing injuries to others and possible damage to property.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your preferred Hyundai Blue Drive dealer to have the SCU software updated, free of charge.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Hyundai Customer Care on 1800 186 306.
