Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Velar recalled

Jaguar Land Rover Australia is recalling 29 examples of the Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Velar because a software fault may cause the engine to not start.

This recall affects Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Velar models produced between 2022 and 2023.

“Due to a software issue, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may not activate as intended,” the company says in its recall notice.

“As a result, the internal combustion engine will not start when required resulting in a reduced or a loss of vehicle performance.”

If you own an affected vehicle you’ll need to contact your preferred authorised Jaguar Land Rover dealer to have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software updated either through a wired connection or, where permitted, over-the-air, free of charge.
