Mercedes-Benz is recalling its 2021 GLE as a loose nut could lead to a vehicle fire.
“The threaded nut securing the 12 Volt wiring harness may become loose over time,” the company says in its recall notice.
“If this occurs, it could result in higher than normal electrical resistance within the harness which could lead to a vehicle fire.
“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.”
If you own an affected vehicle, Mercedes-Benz will contact you and advise you to book an appointment with one of its dealerships to have the work carried out, free of charge.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Mercedes-Benz’s Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 762 718.
