Audi is recalling A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q8 and e-tron models from 2019 to 2021 due to a rear axle fault.
“Some nuts fitted to the rear axle assembly did not meet manufacturing specifications and may break,” the company says in its recall notice.
“A broken nut may lead to increased movement between the wishbone and hub carrier and a change in the wheel alignment on the rear axle.
“A sudden uncontrollable movement of the rear axle cannot be ruled out and increases the risk of injury/death to vehicle occupants or other road users.”

Audi is contacting owners of all affected vehicles.
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule a time at an Audi dealership to have the free repair carried out.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Audi Australia on 1800 502 834.
