A fuel pump issue has led Mazda Australia to issue a recall for its CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9, as well as the Mazda 2, Mazda 3, Mazda 6 and MX-5.
“The low pressure fuel pump impeller may become deformed and cause the fuel pump to stop working. This can result in the vehicle stalling,” the company says in its recall notice.
“A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of an accident and injury to a vehicle occupant or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Mazda dealership to schedule a free replacement of the low pressure fuel pump.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
