Hyundai's local arm can't confirm if or when it'll offer hybrid versions of its popular Kona and Tucson SUVs, but they're high on the brand's wishlist.

Last updated Sep 26, 2025The new Hyundai Tucson is a small SUV offered in a 5D SUV body style. Available in Australia from $29,640 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the Active variant and topping out at $49,150 for the Highlander.
There are 4 variants of the Tucson available in Australia and this generation went on sale in March of 2020.
Engine options include 2.0L petrol direct injection (122kW/205Nm), 1.6L turbo petrol direct injection (130kW/265Nm) and 2.0L turbo diesel common rail (136kW/400Nm). Available with 6-speed automatic, manual, 7-speed automatic, 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions. Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations are available.
The new 2021 Tucson is offered with a 5 year, unlimited km warranty.
