Mazda has priced its updated CX-8 range, due in showrooms in March.
The updates largely mirror those applied to the related CX-5, including a new Touring Active trim level, available in the three-row crossover exclusively with the 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel four-cylinder engine.
However, this has come at the expense of last year’s petrol and diesel Touring SP and GT variants, all replaced by a GT SP trim.
Pricing has been increased by between $1400 and $1870, depending on the variant.
As previously reported, all models now have the 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
Also new for 2023 is a 7.0-inch digital instrument display across the range, USB-C ports for first-row occupants and a remote window control system activated via the key fob. The Mi Drive selectable drive mode system will be standard for AWD versions of the CX-8, offering Normal, Sport and Off-Road modes.
Exterior revisions include a new block-mesh pattern front grille, restyled bumpers, new headlight and tail light designs, new alloy wheel designs, and what Mazda calls a sleeker tailgate.
The new Rhodium White premium metallic – which debuted with the CX-60 – has also been added to the now eight-strong paint palette.
Under the skin, Mazda says the new CX-8 benefits from “exhaustive research, testing and development” to achieve further reductions in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels, contributing to a quieter, smoother ride.
The range continues to offer a choice of a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 140kW of power and 252Nm of torque (Sport, Touring, GT SP, Asaki) and a twin-turbocharged 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel with 140kW and 450Nm (Sport, Touring Active, GT SP, Asaki and Asaki LE).
All petrol models have front-wheel drive while all diesels are all-wheel drive, though a six-speed automatic is the sole transmission choice across the range.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
