Ute brand JAC has announced a $4000 fuel offer for all models across its T9 dual-cab 4×4 ute range until June 30, amid record fuel prices in Australia – including the cost of diesel more than doubling to well beyond $3 per litre.

The T9 is JAC’s answer to the top-selling Ford Ranger. Certain variants of the Ranger (and the related Everest large SUV) were offered with a $4000 fuel card of their own when fuel prices skyrocketed last month.

JAC’s $4000 fuel card is available across the six-grade JAC T9 ute range, which includes two dual-cab/chassis variants and four dual-cab pickups, all of which are fitted with a 78-litre fuel tank and have combined fuel consumption of 7.6L/100km.

“We built the T9 to give Australians what they actually need: a capable, reliable ute that shows up every day. And if something does go wrong, we back our drivers with support that keeps them moving,” said JAC Australia managing director Ahmed Mahmoud in a statement on the offer.

According to the New South Wales Government’s FuelCheck website, the average price of diesel today is 245.3 cents per litre, making JAC’s offer generous enough to fill the T9’s tank almost 21 times over.

Based on its combined fuel consumption, the $4000 voucher is enough to cover more than 21,500km of driving.

Buyers can also take the offer as a cash discount off the T9’s purchase price.

Every version of the T9 is powered by the same 120kW/410Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Payload is between 980kg and 1165kg depending on the variant, while braked towing capacity is 3200kg for all T9 vehicles.

The dual-cab 4×4-only range starts with the entry-level Tradepro cab/chassis priced from $38,990 before on-road costs, while the Oasis cab/chassis is priced at $41,162 before on-roads and adds features including leather-accented seat trim.

The Oasis trim level also marks the entry point for the dual-cab pickup range, priced from $41,162 plus on-road, and includes LED headlights, side steps, leather-accented seats and a powered driver’s seat as standard.

The mid-range Haven grade follows at $45,630 plus ORCs, adding power mirrors, roof rails, rear privacy glass and a powered front passenger seat, with the Osprey at $46,629 before on-roads.

The Osprey X tops the range with black exterior details and a power sunroof, priced from $47,079 plus ORCs.

In addition to the $4000 fuel card offer for some diesel variants, Ford Australia has also cut prices of its Ranger PHEV (plug-in hybrid) variants by as much as $10,000.

JAC will soon release its own plug-in hybrid dual-cab ute, the Hunter, which will rival not only the Ranger PHEV but the BYD Shark 6 and GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV when it arrives in showrooms in coming months. MORE: Explore the JAC T9 showroom
