The Ford Everest large SUV is being recalled due to a defective tow bar hitch.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the tow bar hitch may not have been welded to the required specifications and could detach from the tow bar whilst driving,” the company says in its recall notice.
“Note: Whilst towing a caravan/trailer, it would remain attached to the tow vehicle if the safety chains have been correctly fitted.
“If the tow bar hitch detaches from the vehicle whilst towing, it could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to other road users and bystanders.”
