Lexus Australia says it would like to bring an electric sport sedan here as more images are released of what appears to be an EV successor to the IS.

Last updated Sep 28, 2025The new Lexus IS is a Medium Luxury offered in a 4D Sedan body style. Available in Australia from $61,500 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the Luxury variant and topping out at $78,100 for the F Sport Enhancement Pack.
There are 5 variants of the IS available in Australia and this generation went on sale in October of 2020.
Engine options include 2.5L petrol direct injection (164kW/221Nm), 3.5L gasoline direct injection & multi-point (232kW/380Nm) and 2.0L turbo gasoline direct injection & multi-point (180kW/350Nm). Available with variable sp automatic or 8-speed automatic transmissions. All variants feature rear-wheel drive.
The new 2021 IS is offered with a 4 year, 100,000 km warranty.
